About me
My name is Tara, I am a Mum of 2, Bethan & Kyle, and we are from Co Wicklow. Thank you for visiting my page.
I grew up in Greystones when it was an idyllic and quaint fishing village. I moved to Wrexham in North Wales in 1996, where I qualified with a degree in Youth & Community Education. On returning home I worked in Dublin Well Woman Centre and then as full time Information & Crisis Intervention Officer in Merchants Quays Homeless service Fáiltiú. During my time in Merchants Quay I was fortunate to be part of an exemplary team who looked after both their staff and client group. It was here I began to discover the world of complimentary healing. It was plain to see how Holistic treatments gave solace and comfort to those who made use of them. I went on to seek out various therapies & I have since studied several areas with the most amazing people & have many more courses planned.
By 2012 I had moved to Ashford so my children could be closer to their schools. I had met the most wonderful friend a few years beforehand, Pat Kavanagh. Pat decided to open a small unique gift shop on Wicklow Towns Main St & asked me to work for her part time. It was in Wings that I really found where I was supposed to be. Tragically in 2015 the beautiful Pat was taken from us suddenly. She passed away after a brave battle with cancer & left us heartbroken at her loss. I was honoured to be asked by her family to carry on in Wings. It was a huge decision to try keep up Pats good work and to try keep within what her aspirations and dreams were for the little gift shop. Things were going well and I was full of plans until suddenly in October 2016 my beautiful Mum was suddenly taken, again by cancer. My whole world had fallen apart. Both of these women were exceptional, they were both inspirational and both such a huge huge support to me over the years. It probably would have been easier to throw it all in. Being self employed, paying rates in a Town that was at a loss to the city shopping centres seemed too much. In May 2017 another wonderful woman offered me an opportunity to study again, to refocus, re establish and re invent. In comes BioKinesiology. The brainchild of Elma Murphy and Pippa O Gorman. Elma is one of my dear Mums best friends and confidants. She was devastated at our loss too and following Mums passing put this course together in an effort to provide people with targeted treatments that can help identify what the absolute priority need is. I was so fortunate to be one of the first class of students to qualify under the leadership of Elma Murphy and Pippa O Gorman in 2018.
It was while studying BioKinesiology and working full time in the shop that I began to really embrace the ideology & importance of Wellbeing. It is actually ok not to be ok. It is ok to need and ask for help. It is ok to have off and bad and down days. It is those times that make us stronger. I would always have tried to fix everything all at once so nothing ever got done. In my sessions we work on one or two issues at a time and we tap in to the subconscious to see what it deems as our priority need. Its not a race. Its really just peeling back and treating yourself layer by layer, by layer. The key is to do no harm.
I recently qualifies as a Professional Sound Therapist & Sound Bath Facilitator under the mentorship of my dear friend, teacher & mentor, Carmel Diviney of The Celtic School of Sound Healing. This qualification has been the absolute cherry on the cake. I adore what Sound can do for people, animals & plants. I am in awe of the profound peace therapeutic sound can bring. It is the most beautiful compliment to all of the other modalities that I have. I work with Reiki, Crystals, Sound, Bach Flower Remedies, Hopi Ear Candling, chakra energies, Energy Medicines, Homeotherapy, BioKinesiology & Emotional Kinesiology. I work with children, animals, adults and all things in between. I can tailor make packages and treatments to suit your needs. I can also deliver my remedies or aroma sprays locally between Wicklow and Greystones if needed.
